Chapter 5

" my wish ... is to die "

Lelouch was dumbfounded . He didn't expect that . Why would she wish such a thing ? He intended to ask her but unfortunately , she never allowed him to . It seems as if she was avoiding the subject . Why would someone wish to end their life when life offers them exiting things ? Why she chose to end it when people are scared of death ? He couldn't understand .

"your highness?" it was the minister's voice that causes him to snapped out from his deep thought . He was in a meeting with the ministers for god sake . He need to concentrate .

" just go on with the reports . " said Lelouch

Throughout the meeting , Lelouch could not concentrate at all . He couldn't stop thinking about her. Much to his chagrin , the person who causes him so much trouble was no where to be found or maybe he just not looking hard enough .

" Where is she ? " said Lelouch more likely to himself .

" looking for someone , your highness ?" asked Suzaku

" You knew exactly who is that person , Suzaku " said Lelouch

" thought so . I was wondering why the palace was quiet lately . Usually you two will cause a ruckus first thing in the morning "

" I can never understand her " sigh Lelouch

Suzaku chuckled . Lately , Lelouch always looking out for C.C . The young king may not admit it , but Suzaku couldn't help but notice that Lelouch starts to care for her ever since the day he shouted at the royal library just to look for her .

" Suzaku , what makes people wish that they're better off dead than being alive?" Lelouch asked

Suzaku looked at Lelouch . Indeed the young king was serious .

" There're many factors Lelouch . I can't exactly tell you which because people are different you know . " said Suzaku

" I see . "

Meanwhile , at the royal Library , C.C was reading the future of the country .

" something...something is coming .." she said

In her vision , destruction occurs . The sea was wavering and the people are running . A monster appear. A Cyrus to exact . She knew the monster very well yet something seems to be not right .

" Quickly call the King to meet me here ! " said C.C to the guards with an alarmed tone

" your majesty , lady C.C wish to see you right away at the royal library " informed the guards to Lelouch

" now she's ordering me around .. I'm the king here " said Lelouch

" at least you don't need to look for her anymore " said Suzaku

Lelouch couldn't agree less . At least he didn't need to waste his energy to go out and find her . Thus , both the young king and his royal knight made their way to the royal library .

" Glad you came " commented C.C

" who do you think you are to order me around ?" said Lelouch

" but you did came . " smirk C.C

One could see there's a lightning spark between the two of them . Indeed , its been quite something since the last time both of them fight like this but now is not the time .

" Ahem . . . Did anything happen ? You did request Lelouch to came over here immediately " ask Suzaku

" Nothing happened yet " said C.C which causes Lelouch to be angry but before he could shout or shutter any word she continue.

" but it will soon . "

" what will happen ?" Lelouch is curious

" apparently a sea monster will attack this country and if you don't make a move now , Geass will soon be in danger "

" a sea monster ? " said Suzaku

" which sea monster ? can you be specific ? " ask Lelouch

" Its the Cyrus " said C.C

Lelouch knitted his brows . " Impossible . Cyrus is the most gentle and shy creature ! "

" That's what bothering me too " said C.C

" Its impossible . " said Lelouch in disbelieve

" So are you defying my vision?" said C.C in rather annoyed tone

"A vision is just a mere prediction . It either be true or the other way around . Besides I can't fully trust you just yet . " said Lelouch

C.C said nothing . She just stare at him with a blank face . Lelouch quickly made his way out of the royal library followed by Suzaku .

" Lelouch , what she said might be true " said Suzaku

" Suzaku , a Cryrus is the most gentle monster out there . I will never kill let alone attack this country . "

" well its true that is the nature of Cyrus but a witch vision can be true "

Lelouch ignore the words that was said by Suzaku . He couldn't accept the fact that a Cyrus will attack his country .

" Ignorance will kill you, young king " said a familiar voice

" I just think what is right and you should know more than anyone that Cyrus will never attack a country , Metallica" said Lelouch

" Cyrus is indeed a gentle creature but when a white cloth is dip into a black ink , it would be black isn't it , young king ? "

" what are you implying ? " ask Lelouch

" You'll see it soon . " said Metallica before disappearing out of thin air.

And that was the last time Lelouch ever see Metallica . It was as if he just vanished but Lelouch knew that Metallica will be back soon . Lelouch is the master no ? Several days had passed since the day C.C told Lelouch her vision and nothing happened . Just when Lelouch wanted to push away the incident , the shocking news came .

" YOUR MAJESTY!! THIS URGENT !! " said one of the minister .

The news that the minister causes Lelouch to n0t to bat an eyelid . Lelouch could not believe it and decided to travel to Duston , a country located north .

" impossible .... " shock can be clearly seen on Lelouch face

" Duston is a beautiful country ..." said Suzaku who act as Lelouch escort

Duston , once known as the most beautiful country , the most lively city now destroyed . Not even a single trace of its golden time was left . Everything is wipe out . Children were crying , houses were now down into pieces . Its hard to believe that Bordon was once a country . All this destruction were cause by Cyrus , the creature Lelouch thought was gentle .

" Do you believe me now ? " ask C.C

" Lets stop the Cyrus before its too late " said Lelouch with a serious face .

Chapter 4 - Her wish

It was a beautiful day . The sun was shining in the blue sky . Indeed nothing can spoil the good mood of his majesty , King Lelouch . Well that was what Lelouch thought at first until a certain green haired witch appear to his sight

" Witch ..." said Lelouch which causes C.C to smirk

"Why do you have to ruin everything?" ask Lelouch in annoyed voice

" For your information I haven't done anything yet." said C.C

" yet.. I guess you will soon" said C.C

" You're getting used to it aren't you?"

" who wouldn't? "

It's been 3 months since C.C was appointed to be the royal advisor and it has been that 3 long months she has torment Lelouch with her mind games. Sometimes Lelouch wonder will she be true to her words.

" Aren't you bored tormenting me every single day ? " asked Lelouch

" you're such an interesting human that it's hard for me to get bored"

" sigh... are you going to stay true to your words ?"

" Patience is the key of success. Why's the rush? Rome wasn't built in a day"

" I really don't understand you"

"There's no need for you to . You just do your role and I do mine. Simple isn't it ?"

The contract . Their contract was that C.C would make him the greatest King that ever ruled Geass while Lelouch need to fulfil her wish in return.

Her wish? come to think of it, I never knew what is her wish. Lelouch thought

" I'm going to take a stroll around the palace now." said C.C

"wait.." Lelouch called out to her .

C.C turned to face him . For some reason Lelouch didn't have the courage to voice out his thought to her .

" never mind. You may leave" said Lelouch

C.C just grunted and walk away . Lelouch decided to forget about it since it's not really that important and continue doing his work. Besides she'll eventually tell him .

" I can't take this anymore!"

Lelouch stand up from his seat and make his way to the royal library where he could possibly find the person that causes him so much stress. Yes , he was looking for C.C. No matter how many times he told himself to forget about it , he couldn't. He kept thinking about it . He wondered what was C.C's wish . For a person like C.C there's no way she would want something that any ordinary person would. In that case money and fame was out of the question.

" C.C! " shouted Lelouch as he open the door of the royal library.

To Lelouch chagrin , C.C wasn't there . Instead , it was Suzaku who blinked at him , looking at he was dumbfounded .

" Suzaku ? what are you doing here?" ask Lelouch

" I'm helping the maids to find a book and I haven't seen Lady C.C " said Suzaku who knew very well what was on the mind of the young king .

" If you see her , tell her to come and see me right away" said Lelouch

" Yes , your majesty "

Lelouch decided to search for her at the royal garden . There's no other place he could think of . He search and search only to find out that his effort was in vain.

" Looking for something young king? or perhaps someone?" a voice approach Lelouch from behind . It was Metallica

" Have you seen C.C anywhere ?" ask Lelouch

" I didn't but I know where she is " said the dragon

" how did .." Lelouch wasn't able to finish his sentence

" I've lived for thousands of years . My magic is far more superior that a human . Predicting these is simple for me. "

" I see. Then would you give me the answer that I want?" asked Lelouch

" Depends on what you ask. I may know everything but there are things that are forbidden ."

" Then could you tell me what C.C's wish is ?"

" Wouldn't that be easy if you ask the person yourself?"

" and you said you know everything"

" and I'll just lead you to your fate"

" you and that witch are birds of a feather"

" you can find her at the lake located near the place where you and I met"

" You should have told me earlier " said Lelouch

" Remember to look for the truth beneath the truth if you want to seek the answer you were looking for." said the dragon before he was gone out of Lelouch sight.

" The truth beneath the truth?"

Lelouch made his way to the direction where Metallica had told him. There was a lake located not far from the Solivant cave but Lelouch wondered why would C.C be doing there . By the time he reach the lake , its already dark . The canopy of stars with their bright twinkling lights appeared like a carpet of jewels and was a beautiful sight. The moon was full and its image was reflected by the water of the lake.

At the side of the lake , there stood C.C . Lelouch assume that she was practising her magic . Light glowed and she was surrounded by water which took the form of a snake. She was really into it . For the first time , Lelouch noticed a red mark on her forehead . He never noticed it before since her bangs always covered her forehead .

Lelouch was too absorbed in observing the witch that he unconsciously break a tree branch which causes C.C to be alarmed and almost attacked him with the water snake .

" Lelouch.." said C.C in rather surprised tone . She decided to dismiss her magic .

"Shouldn't you be in the palace?" she asked

" Same goes to you. What are you doing here?"

" I was admiring the scene" answered C.C

" oh.. I see "

" Beautiful isn't it ?"

For the first time , Lelouch didn't know what to say . There's so many things he wanted to ask her . Who is C.C exactly? Sure she proclaimed herself to the descendant of the Gray Witch but that was all that Lelouch knew about her . C.C was full of mystery . There's so much about her that he didn't know.

" You saw it didn't you ?" asked C.C which causes Lelouch to snapped out from his thought

" The mark on my forehead" she added

" what is it ? Is not a birth mark is it ?" ask Lelouch

" no , it's not"

" Then what is it?"

" perhaps you can say it's a curse that was cast on me a very long time ago"

Again Lelouch was lost for words. How should he react to a person who had been cursed ? He didn't know.

" Is it bad?" asked Lelouch

" It's a curse . Of course it's bad" C.C retorted

" How did you get it?"

" It's better for you not to know about it "

" It's better for me to know because it will be easier for me to figure out what is your wish"

" My wish?" C.C looked at him .

" Our contract .. how am I suppose to fulfil your wish if I don't know what it is ." Lelouch explain

" My wish sounds simple but it's hard to be done"

" you want me to lift the curse?"

" end it if I must say"

"isn't that as same as lifting it?"

" no . "

" Could you be specific about your wish ?"

C.C turned to face Lelouch . Her face was different . It wasn't the face of emotionless witch nor it was the teasing face that she often showed him when she teased him . No .. Her face was full of pain and sorrow. Her eyes was filled with sadness that reflected her feelings .

" My wish ... is to die "

Chapter 3

"C.C! " an angry young King angrily made his way to the Royal Library where he could certainly find the person who causes his anguish .

"Here we go again" Sighed Suzaku as he readied himself with another routine of the

young King and his Royal Advisor. It's been a month since C.C was appointed as the Royal Advisor and it has been everyday that an argument will break between the two of them .

" C.C!" the young King called out

" Lelouch , I can hear you loud and clear. There's no need for you to raise up your voice." C.C commented

"Tell me why is THAT creature is in my palace ? more importantly in my CHAMBER?!"

"my dear King, there are many creatures roaming around the palace even you, yourself are considered as a creature. Mind telling me which one are you referring to?" asked C.C mockingly

"you know exactly which one I'm referring to" Lelouch glared

"I'm not a mind reader"

" perhaps you should explain why there is a black fur with whiskers and paws including with claw and a bushy long tail creature is on my bed in my chamber ?"

" It's not called a black fur with whiskers and paws including with claw and a bushy long tail creature. It's a cat "

" I don't care what it's called ! just get it out of my chamber!"

" are you scared of cats ?" asked C.C

" no . I just thought that they are troublesome"

"so , the young King is allergic towards cats"

" I resent that!"

" or maybe that he's just not good with pets"

" What ?! Fine ! I'll prove to you that I'm good with pets !" said Lelouch

" Oh , and how can you do that ? You don't even have any pet."

" I'll find one ! A pet that is much more better than your cat!" claimed Lelouch before storming out of the Royal Library

" How did a simple thing cause this? and what on earth is Lelouch thinking?" said Suzaku who was obviously heard every single thing that

happened

" I just lead him to his fate . He will find himself a very great pet" said C.C

" so you purposely put the cat in his chamber . as expected. but what kind of pet will Lelouch find ? " said Suzaku

" Time will show us and you ..I have a favour to ask of you"

"me?" Suzaku blinked

Meanwhile Lelouch was busy indulging himself with books and more books about animals all around the world

" should I get a tiger ?" Lelouch thought

" no..no .. tiger has same characteristic as a cat . Its just bigger in size"

Lelouch kept on flipping through the pages and finally he found something that catches his attention.

"aha ! this will be perfect ! this can outmatch that witch's cat! ..let's see ..it can only be found at the Solivant cave . Hmm.. that's not far but

it's been a long time ever since people enter the cave . Well at least an owl can fly "

Lelouch quickly grab his sword and made his way to the Solivant cave . On his way , he meet Suzaku .

" Suzaku , what are you doing here ?"

" Well , as your knight I am responsible for your safety"

Suzaku remembered what C.C told him .

" I have a favour to ask from you" said C.C

" me ?" Suzaku blinked

" Lelouch will go to the Solivant cave in search of his 'great pet'"

" how did you.."

" Now what I want you to do is to make sure that he would not bring any weapon into that cave"

"what ?! but how is he going the defend himself if there's any danger?" Suzaku said in disapproval tone

'if you want him to be turn into ashes ,suit yourself" C.C glared which makes Suzaku gulped

Suzaku was worried . How on earth will Lelouch defend if himself if he's not allowed to bring a weapon in ? and moreover what does C.C meant Lelouch turning into ashes ? There's so much question remained unanswered but something about C.C that makes him believe her .

Now he need to think of how to make Lelouch let go of his sword.

To reach the Solivant cave , they must first pass through a river . This was the chance Suzaku waiting for .

" Lelouch , do you want me to hold your sword while you cross the river?"

" A soldier must always bring his own sword"

" A knight must always make sure the King is safe"

" All right , just hand it over after we finished crossing this river" said Lelouch as he handed Suzaku his sword .

Just as both of them finished crossing the river , a bear appear out of nowhere and it seems eager to attack both of them.

" Lelouch run !" shouted Suzaku while taking his stance

" but .."

"don't worry , I won't die that easily. Go!"

Lelouch quickly escape . " At least I manage to make him forget about the sword" said Suzaku .

Lelouch finally reach the Solivant Cave. Lelouch ventured into the cave. As he went deeper , he notices that the surrounding temperature was extremely too low for any normal cave .

" this is odd " he said

He continue his search and he found himself at a spacious space inside the cave . He suddenly saw the creature he was looking for all along . White feathered with wings ..an owl.

" found you " Lelouch wanted to run towards the owl when suddenly he heard a voice.

What's a human doing in my cave?

Lelouch look around and found not even a single person

So did you come to slay me ? I shall not let that happen!

Not long after that , a roared could be heard . Lelouch eyes nearly popped out . Right in front of him stood the mighty dragon with a size as enormous as his palace.

I shall not let you live !

The dragon breath out fire and Lelouch has to take cover behind a huge stone. At that crucial moment , he notices that he left his sword along with him . He cursed himself .

Why are you hiding ? Didn't you seek me in the first place ? Withdraw your sword and fight me !

How is he suppose to fight this dragon let alone kill it ? darn .. he was only looking for an owl to outmatch the witch's cat . It's all the witch's

fault! He needed to think of something ... fast or else he will become ashes .

Boy why aren't you fighting? Are you a wimp?

" I'm not a wimp . I think you have misunderstand me" said Lelouch

Misunderstand ? Me ? Don't be foolish ! You've come to slay me and that why you're here!

" If I did come to slay you shouldn't withdraw my sword and fight you? Besides , I think a sword would never be enough to defeat you"

The dragon calm himself down.

I see. It's seem you're not the same as the others . My apology

"others ? are there others before me ?"

Yes and all of them came in intentions to slay me .

" If you knew why didn't you find another place to live in?"

I was told that I was destined to meet my master here .

" I see. I guess you haven't found him yet"

It seems . I've waited for thousands of years and it seems I shall be continuing to do so. Tell me boy , what are you doing here ?

"I was looking for an owl"

An owl? For what reason do you need an owl?

" well to show a certain witch that I am capable of taking care of pets"

Witch? The Gray Witch ?

The dragon's eyes starts to look all over Lelouch and realized something.

" not really. She's the descendant of the Gray Witch . An annoying one too. I hate her "

The dragon starts to laugh as if it was the most funniest thing to hear. Lelouch raised an eyebrow.

It's seems to me that the spring has come.

"Spring? But it's in the middle of summer "

Not the spring of nature but the spring in you

Lelouch could not understand what's the meaning behind his words .

" I really need to find that owl"

Instead of an owl , would you like a dragon instead ?

" but I thought you were waiting for your master "

Indeed I was but not anymore . I , Metalica , the mighty dragon of all dragon shall pledge my loyalty to you . My wisdom is your shield and my strength is your sword . If the words I said is untrue , I shall die in your hands "

After Lelouch return to his palace with his new pet. Metalica , took the form of a human to enter the palace . If he were to remain at his true form , that would cause chaos .

" I see you found yourself a very interesting pet " C.C commented

" hah , see , I've told you I'm capable" said Lelouch proudly

"sorry for taking your sword away " said Suzaku while C.C was grinning

" It's not your fault . " said Lelouch

" Let me give you a fortune telling " said Metalica towards Lelouch

" Let's hear it" said Lelouch

" The spring is coming soon"

" You've said that before" Lelouch groan

" well I might as well say it again" said Metalica

Oh great , Lelouch thought. His dragon has the same personality as the witch . He should have taken the owl instead .
